Read MoreMidsummer Investments LLC is a UAE-based holding company dedicated to developing large-scale indigenous afforestation projects in regions with the most favourable conditions for rapid, sustained plant growth.
Our mission is to deliver efficient, long-term carbon sequestration solutions that contribute meaningfully to global greenhouse gas reduction goals — while generating lasting social and economic value for the communities in which we operate.
The afforestation projects are strategically designed at a scale that ensures meaningful investment into local communities and nationwide development, fostering generational transformation aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
At our core is a highly experienced management team with deep expertise in commerce, forestry, sustainable development, project finance, technology, carbon markets and community development.
Midsummer focuses on African nations offering political stability, strong land frameworks, community partnership models, and government support for large-scale forest restoration.
Future pipeline: Malawi, Gabon, Uganda, Angola and 4–5 additional sub-Saharan countries targeting 200,000+ total hectares.
Midsummer's leadership brings together decades of expertise across technology, finance, forestry, carbon markets, renewables and community development.
The Midsummer Kenya ARR project areas are located within the Mau Forest Complex in western Kenya — elevations ranging between 2,000 and 2,800 metres above sea level, covering 14,000 hectares across two areas: Maasai Mau and Enoosupukia Forest.
The Mau Forest Complex is mostly legally gazetted forest land vested in the Government of Kenya and administered by the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) under the Forest Conservation and Management Act (2016). The Maasai Mau is an exception — trust land under Narok County, administered by KFS on behalf of Narok.
No private or customary land ownership exists within the project boundary. Both areas are highly degraded forest land, resulting from historical encroachment, illegal cultivation, grazing, charcoal production, and unsustainable logging.
The importance of this land has meant the Government has cleared encroachments and completed resettlement outside the areas — enabling full forest restoration to now proceed.
The Masai Mau project covers 9,500 hectares of highly degraded forest land within the Maasai Mau block of the Mau Forest Complex — trust land under Narok County, administered by the Kenya Forest Service. Restoration is through Assisted Natural Regeneration using up to 12 native species, generating high-integrity VM0047 ARR carbon credits with CCB co-benefits. Elevation: 2,000–2,800 m asl.
The Enoosupukia project covers 4,500 hectares of the Enoosupukia Forest block within the Mau Forest Complex — gazetted forest land administered by the Kenya Forest Service. Like Masai Mau, restoration follows Assisted Natural Regeneration under VM0047 with native species only. The site sits adjacent to existing healthy forest, offering excellent conditions for natural seed dispersal and accelerated biodiversity recovery. Elevation: 2,000–2,800 m asl.
Following the Kenya anchor projects, Midsummer's pipeline extends across sub-Saharan Africa — targeting 230,000 hectares in total. Each project follows the same rigorous VM0047 ARR standard, community-first development model, and long-term carbon credit accreditation framework.
The project development follows a rigorous methodology to ensure the quality of delivery. Every Midsummer project is structured around three core activities — developed in line with internationally recognised standards to ensure compliance and successful accrual of carbon credits.
Our forest planning process combines cutting-edge remote sensing technology with rigorous on-the-ground assessment to ensure every site meets the highest standards of quality and viability.
Our approach ensures local communities benefit directly and tangibly from our projects — creating lasting employment, income and development opportunities that extend across generations.
Our afforestation projects aim to restore natural ecosystems and protect biodiversity, going far beyond carbon sequestration to deliver measurable, lasting ecological value.
All Midsummer projects are developed under the highest-integrity standards in the voluntary carbon market — ensuring transparency, credibility, and premium credit quality that buyers and investors can rely on.
Afforestation, Reforestation & Revegetation methodology — approved by ICVCM under Core Carbon Principles in December 2024. The highest-integrity ARR standard available globally. 100% indigenous species focus across all projects.
ICVCM CCP-ApprovedHighest IntegrityCCB co-benefits label applied across all projects for added ecological and social value. Projects targeting BBB to AA ratings from independent rating agencies BeZero Carbon and Sylvera.
BeZero RatedSylvera RatedSelected projects combine ARR with REDD+ protection components under Verra VM0048, providing both removal and avoided emission credits from a single landscape — a highly attractive dual-methodology structure for corporate buyers seeking portfolio diversification and comprehensive nature-based solutions.
Dual MethodologyRemoval + AvoidanceMangrove conservation and restoration in The Gambia and Kenya's coastal zones. Mangroves store 3–5x more carbon per hectare than terrestrial forests, commanding significant premium pricing in the voluntary market.
Premium CreditsCoastal ResilienceRestoring forest ecosystems for measurable, independently verified climate mitigation. Every project is designed to sequester carbon, restore biodiversity, and improve ecosystem services over a 30–40 year horizon.
Ensuring transparency and quality in all carbon credit methodologies. Independent accreditation, third-party MRV, and rigorous ongoing monitoring ensure our credits meet the highest standards buyers and regulators require.
Creating lasting benefits for local communities through employment, training, and benefit-sharing across generations. 40% of all project revenues flow directly to community benefit.
Leveraging partnerships with governments, NGOs, and corporate stakeholders to maximise impact. Long-term offtake agreements of 10–30 years with reputable companies supporting the global push towards decarbonisation.
Demand for high-quality, nature-based carbon solutions is growing rapidly. Midsummer projects are designed to produce CCP-labelled credits that command premium pricing both today and in the future.
The average price of forest carbon removal credits ranged between $8 and $15 per tonne — with significant premium commanded by high-integrity projects.
Forest carbon removal credits increased significantly, with some high-quality credits reaching over $50 per tonne as corporate demand intensified.
Prices for high-quality forest carbon removal credits are projected to potentially exceed $50 per tonne by 2030 as nature-based demand grows.
Midsummer Investments provides investors with access to high-quality Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and natural capital projects across Africa. We develop and structure investment opportunities that combine competitive financial returns with measurable climate, biodiversity, and social impact.
Our investment strategy focuses on large-scale forestry, ecosystem restoration, and carbon projects capable of generating long-term value through multiple revenue streams — including carbon credits, biodiversity markets, and sustainable ecosystem services.
Natural capital is emerging as one of the world's fastest-growing investment themes, driven by increasing demand for carbon removals, biodiversity conservation, sustainable commodities, and climate resilience.
Well-structured Nature-Based Solutions projects offer investors exposure to real assets with strong sustainability credentials and significant growth potential — assets that appreciate in value as regulation tightens and corporate net-zero commitments become legally binding.
Midsummer projects are structured to deliver credible and sustainable IRR figures across 30–40 year horizons, with diversified revenue streams providing resilience against market volatility.
Eight projects at 12,000 ha each. A target IRR of 20%+. $314 million in community benefits. 110 million trees planted across Kenya alone.
Midsummer is developing a portfolio of afforestation, reforestation, and ecosystem restoration projects across East Africa, creating long-term natural capital assets that deliver climate impact while generating attractive risk-adjusted returns for investors and lasting wealth for the communities in which we operate.
We seek strategic investors and partners who share our vision of transforming natural capital into a scalable asset class capable of delivering both financial performance and lasting environmental impact. Together, we can accelerate the transition to a more sustainable and resilient future.
